HEALING -AWAKENING-AWARENESS       

Gaia-Oasis offers a Daily Healing Session 5 days a week for our guests.  The Healing session will differ depending on the practitioner giving the session; and may include yoga, dance, bodywork, meditation or some other form of healing work. 

If you would like to join the Healing Program, please book in advance, so we can support your needs.  As far as possible, our Healing Program is for everybody, whether beginners or more advanced practioners.

I am coming through contemporary dance to yoga, therefore alignment is very important in my class also to prevent enjuries and to get the most out of a pose or a movement sequence. I  want to use the natural principles of gravity so the poses are becoming lighter and we need a bit less muscles strength. 

The whole class is a journey into your body which needs a acuteness mind. You want to get to know your body more, soften the thoughts in your head and awaken all the cells in the body. Also a focus is the heart to create awareness of your feelings and  to cultivate happiness and love to yourself and to all other beings.

Angela Mennerich - Sapta Yoga

I like YOGA with JOY!

For nearly a decade I make yoga from joy in the movement and to the balance of my perseverance training. In India I have intensely deepened my knowledge and my experiences with the Sapta yoga Internationally Teacher training with Yogacharya Dr. Sushil Bhattacharya and have concluded with certificate. My lessons especially and individual are formed by my experiences as a deep-psychological body therapist and the body are connected with the soul.  In Thailand I had the opportunity to show also to beginners, like the body becomes more adaptable, stronger and lighter and also in the mental-spiritual area of changes clearly become perceptible. Sapta yoga has its origin of the Ashtanga yoga and is a comprehensive method to change false positions in the physical and mental-spiritual area. The practise sits down together from Asana (body exercises), Pranayama (breath exercises) as well as relaxation sound concentration exercises. Yoga is a method to come over the body to itself.

Angela is one of our valued repeat guest teachers, and we are very happy she will join us again this year.

Regina Rothlach  - Kundalini Yoga

From June 1st to July 30th 2011 I shall teach yoga at gaia-oasis. I have been practising yoga for more than 30 years. Since 1981 I teach yoga at my own studio(www.yogazentrum-altona.de). At first I taught Hatha yoga and since 1998 – after passing the Kundalini yoga teacher exam – I teach Kundalini yoga. My courses consist of physical exercises, breathing techniques, relaxation and meditation. The breath is used consciously all the time. By practising yoga one can achieve a wellbalanced physical and mental harmony, better health, equanimity, clarity, awareness and an open and loving heart. As a teacher I try to live according to these human values and to pass them on to others. I also do this as a painter (www.reginerothlach.de) but with different materials and techniques.

Jessica Pearl  - Yoga with Music

Jessica teaches a very integrative style of yoga combining vinyasa, anusara, kundalini, and ecstatic dance.  She is passionate about the healing effects of yoga, and living yoga off the mat.  She comes from Boise, Idaho teaching classes to adults, children in schools, and young adults at juvenile correction facilities.  She is also a massage therapist and music teacher.  She brings her love of music and yoga into her classes.

Jo Cunningham - Yoga

In 1998,I fell in love with India and found yoga waiting for me.

In 2000,I was formally  initiated into the Sivananda lineage as a yoga Siromani and given the spiritual name of Jagadamba,"Mother of the World".

Over the last eleven years, I have studied, practiced and grown into yoga and have integrated it into my daily life.

The classical teachings of Hatha yoga form is the foundation of my class.

A focus on gentle deep breath acts as the vital tool to open the body and relax the mind.

Using a holistic approach to asana, pranayama and meditation, students are guided toward self awareness, personal well being and spiritual freedom.

All things move by the Grace of Ma.

Yan Wang - Hatha Yoga

My yoga teaching is inspired by Anusara yoga, but with my own style.   Anusara yoga talks about three A’s which are the Attitude, Alignment and Action, and the most important one is the Attitude. Yes, when we have the right attitude, open to grace, open to the universe, our whole life will be changed no matter whether on or off the mat.

I love teaching and also doing yoga. I believe a good teacher should always be a good student as well. When you always have the passion to learn, then you will be able to teach with passion and deep understanding. You will be able to connect with your students with body, mind and soul.

My life mission is to help others to be happier and healthier, and I’m doing it with my whole heart. Come to Bali to join me. There will be so much love, joy, and fun during our yoga practice.  See you!

Teresa Montano

Teresa teaches Hatha Yoga. Her background has been in dance - as a  professional dancer for 20 years in London, UK - and so her classes have a sense of flow to them, with movement to breath coordinations. They give emphasis to alignment work, rooting and grounding principals, gentle body strengthening and energy balancing.
 
Teresa began practicing yoga 13 years ago after traveling to Mysore, India, to study with Pattabhi Jois of the Ashtanga Yoga tradition. She has since journeyed on with her ever deepening yoga enquiry and has arrived at what she terms a 'softer more feminine approach' now. Her inspiration with yoga comes in discovering deep strength for the entire mind/body/spirit system without the imposition of strain or unnecessary tensions. This more 'softening' approach gives, she believes, clearer openings for us within which healing and balance can occur. In essence yoga endeavours to bring us here - to the place where we can best access our sense of balance, of peace and of connection to ourselves, to Nature and to the Universe that surrounds and moves through us.
 
Teresa received her first Teacher Training certificate 8 years ago and  is currently in training again with the Inner Yoga Trust school in the UK.

 

Lodewijk Scholtens

Louie has since his youth a deep connection with spirituality but in a grounded way. After studying International Business and Law, he devoted all his energies to the esoteric. He has followed many workshops,studies,lectures and met Masters all of the world during his traveling and shares his experiences,knowledge and love with other people. In Gaia Oasis he will teach Hatha Yoga, including asanas, pranayama, meditation and knowledge instruction. Yoga is a way for him to experience unity between body, soul and spirit. With this unity you can find a solemn stillness deep within yourself, to which each person consciously or unconsciously seeks.

Maaike Aker

From my 27th till my 30s, I have been practicing Hatha Yoga. But since my trip to Bali in 2009,and in particular Gaia Oasis, i fell in love with Kundalini Yoga.For me it was one of the most special experiences in my life and the beauty of this yoga never left me since. Back in the Amsterdam i immediately start practicing Kundalini Yoga at home and in classes and still, I felt the need to do more with it. It was like an inner voice, an inner drive and i decided to start with the International Kundalini Teacher Training ( Level 1 ) as thought by Yogi Bahjan.I have been graduated for this teacher training in June 2011. At this moment i am teaching during my educational lessons and to friends and fellow students. At this moment i am going to teach in a yoga school here in Amsterdam ( at the ashram ) or i am going to rent my own place. Start practicing Kundalini Yoga,studying and teaching has been the best choice in my life. My heart has always been in the spiritual world with my both feet on the ground, but with my education and practice i feel more alive and i feel everything  around me much more! Every day is a practice, a personal sadhana, a beautiful journey with many things to learn and teach. For me teaching is more than teaching, it is uplifting the student and moving somebody's soul , heart, body and spirit. It is pure blessing for me to return to Gaia Oasis, the place where i fell deeply in love with Kundalini Yoga. Now i can give back which i have once received.

Dirkje Zondervan - Hatha Yoga

Dirkje received her yoga teacher certificate at Mahindra Institut in Frankfurt after a 3-year course in 1996.  She taught at the same Institut in Frankfurt, moving with them to Birstein where they now have an ayurvedic centre. Dirkje teaches hatha yoga traditional style and she has followed stages at Iyengar in Pune and Munich. Last year she participated in a seminar with Dinah Rodrigues who specializes in Hormon Yoga. Besides Yoga, she is a Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner since 2001.  Dirkje has taught yoga  at the Barberyn ayurvedic health resort in Sri Lanka several times.  There, she learned ayurvedic abhyanga massage and undertook courses in ayurvedic therapy. She is very interested in holistic healing and is glad to be able to share her knowledge with other people. Dirkje is one of our valued repeat guest teachers, and we are very happy she will join us again this year.
